Burned Furniture in Improper Bostonian- Go Figure!

I'm so pleased to have a paragraph and a few pictures of my woodburned pieces included in
" Boston's Etsy Entrepreneurs" in the April  Home edition of the Improper Bostonian magazine.
A few of my pieces took part in a real photo shoot in downtown Boston, too-
Here's the article!

22 ginko leaves

a new frame for my Etsy shop.

very enjoyable to make- it still smells (slightly) like a campfire!

12 Frames

My final 12 frames!
Just dropped them off at CAC Gallery.
Wish I hadn't ruined my one round ivy ringed mirror-
it fit into the set so well.
In the future I will not doubt the sticking power of good old Elmer's Glue!

10/9/11

10 frames

Here's what I've been working on for the past five weeks or so-

hopefully I will finish one or more additional frames to add to this grouping, to be delivered to the gallery by next weekend.

Rosa's Rolling Pin

just finished today at 5 pm- several almost non stop days of fun/work-

7/25/11

large serving plate

Another upcycled (then sanded and woodburned) used plate from the Saint Camillus Thrift shop. Two full days of burning-finally it's finished!

7/12/11

oak rolling pin

Another second hand find from the thrift shop- this one is oak, I think, and quite heavy- took lots of sanding and lots of time- finally finished!

7/11/11

small shelf

This small shelf was purchased used and unfinished from the best shop ever- Saint Camillus Thrift Shop in Arlington, MA. After some moderate sanding and many hours of burning, here is the shelf! It's going to hopefully find a temporary resting place at the Blue Cloud Gallery in Somerville, MA later today.
Also pictured, a July anniversary cake.

Just finished this rolling pin- one of several vintage finds from my favorite thrift shop..I cleaned, sanded, burned (for about a week!) and oiled with care- here is the result.
You can see it in person at the Blue Cloud Gallery in Somerville, MA.

Betsy of Blue Cloud

If you have not met photographer Betsy Lenora- new owner of Blue Cloud Gallery in Somerville's bustling Ball Sqare-you are missing out. A talented artist in her own right, Betsy kindly and expansively stables the work of many prolific local craftspeople- already I am tempted to spend money I don't have on lovely sgriffito style pottery and whimsical technicolor primates.

I'm pleased to announce many of my emblazoned housewares can now be found at Blue Cloud; in fact I just dropped off every last woodburned utensil in my home, as well as several plates and other pieces, into Betsy's open arms. I'm really happy about this new opportunity!
